Start building a Web presence - even if it isn’t a site per se, start building a rapport online. You can use one of the above services to find out where your brand is being mentioned.
Set up a paid search accounts - only half an hour on Google and Yahoo with your brand and business name results. If and when it happens it’s set up so you can adjust whatever it is that has occurred as a modifier.

People are definitely starting to get the 2 way conversation. I did a panel at a conference in Auburn, NY yesterday (think small town with 1 stop light) and there was a presentation on using Twitter and SecondLife as marketing tools.

RE: 2 way conversations, we’re finding the same thing in the different parts of West Virginia. Some people have started to understand it; others get it when you can show them real world examples. It seems like there’s a growing Twittering force around as well (which grows with each conference we do).
