Current Position:
Skip Lineberg presently serves as Chief Creative Officer / Partner at Maple Creative.
Background:
Skip's twenty-year career in marketing spans half of North America, products and services, large corporations and small businesses. He is a native West Virginian, residing in Charleston.
In January 2001 with the help of three partners, Skip formed Maple Creative, LLC, a full-service marketing and communications firm. He serves as Maple's chief creative officer, managing a staff of creative professionals. Since its inception Maple Creative has garnered numerous professional honors & awards and built a stellar client list. The company's logo was chosen by Lands' End and identity guru David Carter in 2003 as one of America'’s 50 best corporate logos. Maple was honored by the American Advertising Federation's West Virginia chapter with back to back "Best in Show - Addy" awards in 2006 and 2007. The Maple blog site was designated as one of the Top 100 Business Blogs on the Internet in 2007.
Prior to running his marketing firm, Skip spent seven years in economic development marketing at the state and regional levels. Lineberg began his professional career in 1988 with General Electric, where he completed GE’s management development program in technical sales & marketing.
He was selected as a 2002 "West Virginia Young Gun" by COMAR, Inc., publisher of West Virginia Executive, in recognition of his leadership contribution within the state's business community. In 2003, Skip was selected as chairman of the communications planning team for "West Virginia: A Vision Shared" – an economic enhancement initiative built around the state's long-range strategic improvement plan. Skip was invited to attend world-renowned business author Tom Peters' Re-Imagine Business Summit in 2004.
Skip is a frequent contributor writer to state and national publications and blogs. He is actively engaged in writing, speaking and teaching about marketing, management and mentoring. He is the publisher of two blogs and is presently engaged in the development of a research project and book. The book, which is entitled Career Daily: 130 Ways to Stand Out, Fit In & Move Up on Your First Job, is loaded with career-enhancing lessons for first-year business professionals.
Skip has taught marketing workshops at Marshall University Graduate College and the University of Charleston, where he served as Executive in Residence for the Jones Division of Business in 2004.
